As a professional wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing the magic of two weddings at the Priest House in Skipton. Each wedding was unique, and I would like to share my experience with you to help guide you in planning your special day at this stunning venue! :)
The Priest House is a truly magical location situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, surrounded by magnificent views. The 15th-century chapel has been renovated to an exceptional standard, with the venue comprising three main buildings: the Priest House (chapel) and restaurant, the Barden Bunk Barn great for getting ready, and the ruins of Barden Tower. The venue is Grade 1 listed! When standing in the chapel, one cannot help but be awestruck by its impressive presence.
The venue is privately owned, and Conor, the person in charge, is an exceptional professional who ensures that every detail is taken care of, and your wedding day runs smoothly. He is friendly, positive, and ensures that you and your guests feel comfortable throughout the day.
Here are six advantages of choosing the PRIEST'S House as your wedding venue
The Barden bunk barn is the perfect place to get ready or spend some quality time with friends before the wedding. It has a medieval feel and is ideal for a small after-party if you want to celebrate into the early hours the next day. One of the weddings I photographed used it for their celebration after the official dinner.
2. The chapel provides a stunning backdrop for your wedding photos. It is full of light and warmth, creating a charming and romantic atmosphere. The chapel has tall ceilings, which make the acoustics perfect for live music. The sound spreads beautifully, creating an enchanting ambience, akin to that of a cathedral. Venue also provides a pion at the chapel that you can use if you do want so live music is playing. I experienced it as It's a game-changer!
3. The venue is ideal for both intimate and larger weddings. If your wedding is small with about 30 people, the meal after the ceremony can take place at the small restaurant above, with its cosy, dark wood look. For larger weddings, the chapel becomes the perfect setting for your wedding reception, accommodating up to 80 guests. Both solutions are excellent as they can cater to not only small ceremonies but also larger ones.
4. The grounds provide an excellent backdrop for your wedding photos. Though not extensive, there are many opportunities to take amazing photographs in and around the venue.
