SOME PEOPLE TEND TO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER AND A RANDOM PERSON USING THEIR PHONE TO TAKE EVERYDAY PHOTOS OF THEIR LIVES.

SOME COUPLES DECIDE NOT TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER FOR THEIR WEDDING AS THEY BELIEVE IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY. THEY ASK THEIR WEDDING GUESTS OR A PARTICULAR PERSON TO TAKE SOME WEDDING SHOTS, ENDING UP REGRETTING THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A SINGLE PHOTO THEY ACTUALLY LIKE.

An old friend of mine made that mistake. They asked a friend with a DSLR camera, who was an amateur, if she could take photos at their wedding. She agreed, but then during the wedding day, she passed the camera to her husband. She was more interested in having fun with the guests than walking around and take photos. I wish I didn't ask if I could see the pictures from their day as you could see all the emotions written on my face...

Photography is an art that requires knowledge of how to use the right equipment, edit photos, find candid moments that show a range of emotions, communicate with clients, be creative etc. This article is not about why you should hire a professional photographer for your wedding, but why you should not ask your wedding guests to do that job.

1.THE QUALITY OF THE PHOTOS MAY NOT BE UP TO YOUR STANDARDS

While many people have access to smartphones with excellent cameras, taking great wedding photos is not as simple as just pressing a button. Taking high-quality wedding photos requires a good understanding of lighting, angles, composition, post processing and technical aspects of using the camera. Your guests may not have the necessary expertise to capture the best photos of you and your partner, which can result in blurry, poorly framed, overexposed, low resolution, badly edited pictures.

2. YOU MAY MISS OUT ON PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Hiring a professional wedding photographer is an investment that can pay off in beautiful and timeless photos. By asking your guests to take photos, you may miss out on the opportunity to have a professional capture your special day. Professional photographers have the experience and skills needed to take stunning photos that you will treasure for a lifetime.

3. YOUR GUESTS MAY FEEL PRESSURED

Asking your guests to take photos during your wedding can make them feel pressured to capture the perfect shot. This can be especially stressful for those who are not comfortable taking photos or who do not have the necessary equipment. The pressure to capture good photos can take away from the enjoyment of the wedding for your guests. When you ask a specific guest to do than they will feel like being on job. They won't be able to fully enjoy the day with you.

4. IT CAN LEAD TO DISAPPOINTMENT

Finally, asking your guests to take photos can lead to disappointment if the pictures do not meet your expectations. You may end up with a collection of photos that are not of the quality or style that you had hoped for. This can be disappointing, especially if you were relying on these photos to capture the memories of your special day. Wedding is that special day in life that it's worth remembering. All the couples always say the photos are usually the only reminder of it.

5. YOU MAY END UP LOOSING A FRIENDS

The friend you asked to take the photos may cancel their presence, deliver bad photos, or decide not to take any more photos halfway through your wedding. This may lead to a proper argument, resulting in losing a friend.

While it may seem like a good idea to ask your wedding guests to take photos at during your day, you now have 5 reasons to take into account before you decide to that. By hiring a professional photographer, you can ensure none of these will happen to be an issue. You can also ensure that your guests can fully enjoy the day without feeling pressured or obligated to take photos.

I hope that by reading this article you will rethink your idea that you will not hire a wedding photographer for your big day.
